Moremi The Musical is a story of love and heroism. The acclaimed musical, premiered in 2018, showcasing the rich and colourful Yoruba ancestral heritage through the rich display of songs, music, dance, spectacle and costumes.
The musical details the story of the Yoruba heroine, Queen Moremi Ajasoro whose heroic feats and feminist prowess liberated the Ife nation from the Ugbo bandits some 1,200 years ago. The story has modern day relevance as it evokes the importance of female empowerment, female capacity development and the girl -child education. This production would parade Nigerian entertainment powerhouse including Segun Dada, Fakunle Olarotimi, Lanre Adediwura, Julius Obende, Lateef Adedimeji and Tina Mba and a host of other thespians in Nigeria.
Venue is the Agip Memorial Hall, MUSON Centre, Lagos and dates are Ileya /Sallah Weekend, July 9,11 and 12 are will be 6 shows over the three (3) days with two (2) showings daily at 3pm and 7pm respectively.
